Google Accidentally Indexing Shortened URLs?

April 10, 2015 By CW O'Connell

Short URL services like bit.ly and goo.gl are great for link sharing on social media, but not so great for SEO. Dan Shure of Evolving SEO spotted this quirky SERP today with a shortened URL getting indexed and showing for a local hotel.

I’ve never seen this before — but maybe there is a reasonable explanation of how this happened? If you’ve ever seen this before, let Dan know on Twitter.
