It appears another test is happening on the AdWords side, this time for Google AdWords Location Extensions — Google is going simple. Instead of outputting the whole location, Google is only showing the city, state below the ad copy.
What location extensions do
- Location extensions show your business address, phone number, and a map marker with your ad text.
- On mobile, they include a link with directions to your business.
- Clicks on ads with location extensions cost a standard cost-per-click.
According to Google’s documentation, they claim they’ll show the full address. More changes may be incoming as Google tried to match the look of the mobile results even more with desktop results.
