Spotted today by reader Jeff Mainwood of 4 Ps Marketing was this new ratings extension. With a much larger layout and more prominent size compared to the normal ratings extension, this is an interesting Google test for PPC managers. It is a little hard to tell if this is a brand-new type of extension or perhaps a combo of sitelinks along with a larger review extension. The left area seems very similar to a sitelink test that Google has been running, but I have not seen them in the stacked format previously. The overall size reminds me of the new price extensions on mobile, with the swiping left-to-right cards under the top ad slot. On the very competitive insurance search ads, it is interesting to see Google test larger ad formats, pushing the organic results down the page just a little more. I am unable to replicate the test on mobile here on my device.

The large rating really pulls attention to the advert and sure it’ll drive attention from in-market searchers.
